Heidfeld concerned about wet running

BMW Sauber Nick Heidfeld is hoping for no rain during the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend, as he reckons will cause a lot of problems for the drivers

Without traction control, some drivers have expressed their concerns about the rain that is expected to hit the Sepang circuit this weekend.

Rain in Malaysia is usually hard to predict, but also very heavy when it arrives, and Heidfeld is worried there will be a lot of aquaplaning if a tropical storm hits the track.

"Although the track has been resurfaced, it has a quite good grip level which is not always the case," said the BMW Sauber driver.

"A big question mark is the weather. Precise predictions for rain are difficult here. I don't have anything against normal rain, the opposite is the case.

"But even I don't wish for a tropical downpour here for the race. If this happens you just don't see anything and have too much aquaplaning."

Heidfeld finished today's practice in 13th position, five places behind teammate Robert Kubica.
