Hamilton: F1 more fun without aids

Lewis Hamilton gave a big thumbs-up to the new regulations banning traction control after testing with no driver aids at the Jerez circuit

"It was fun. It was great, it is like back to normal," said the McLaren driver after testing with next year's settings.

The Briton said driving with no aids felt a lot more natural to him.

"I much prefer the car without traction control," he added. "I feel more natural without traction control, to be honest.

"This year, although the car was great, driving with traction control was more unnatural to me. I wanted the minimum level but the team wanted me to use to maximum. I think it is more fun.

"It is more of a handful but this is what racing is all about and look at GP2, that is what we did."

Hamilton also admitted he was eager to test with slicks tyres, although he will have to wait until next month to do it.

"I have not tried the slicks yet. I will try them in January, and I can't wait," Hamilton said.
