Grapevine: Fans invited to centennial GP dinner

Formula One fans will get a unique chance to rub shoulders with the sport's stars of the past and present next month at a special dinner at the Autosport International show

The '100 Years of Grand Prix Racing' event has already guaranteed a host of famous names including Red Bull Racing's David Coulthard and former World Champions John Surtees and Jackie Stewart, as well as Mark Blundell, Allan McNish and commentating legend Murray Walker.

The evening promises to take a look back at the sport's history and offer an insight, and a few never-told-before stories, from the men who have competed in it.

Host for the evening Simon Taylor said: "The 100 Years Grand Prix dinner is where Grand Prix racing's centenary year will officially get under way

"Helping us kick-start the celebrations will be former World Champions and Formula One stars past and present, plus the inimitable voice of F1, Murray Walker. I'm hoping to tease a few untold stories out of all of them, so it promises to be a unique and unforgettable occasion - see you there!"

The dinner will also showcase a McLaren Formula one car and offer guests the chance to get behind the wheel in a McLaren F1 simulator.

A special package has been put together for the event, which includes a ticket to the dinner, hotel accommodation for the night and a ticket to the Autosport International Show on Saturday or Sunday. Priced at just £119 per person, details can be obtained from www.hilton.co.uk/motorsports.

Autosport.com is also offering you a chance to win tickets to the '100 Years of Grand Prix Racing dinner': the two readers with the highest score of our 2005 Christmas Morning Mega Quiz will win the tickets.
