Grapevine: Coulthard in Love Scandal

According to a report published in the British tabloid News of the World, McLaren driver David Coulthard strayed just days before announcing he and his girlfriend were postponing their wedding, which was expected this year.

Coulthard, whose fiance is American model Heidi Wichlinski, announced earlier this year they were postponing their wedding because he wanted to fully concentrate on fighting for the championship in the 2001 season.

However, according to the reports in the British tabloid, the 29-year old Scot had an affair with 20-year old model Ruth Taylor, only a couple of days before Coulthard's announcement.

"He came straight to me and started talking," Taylor was quoted as saying. "I asked him if he was one of those married men who take their wedding ring off before trying to chat a girl up. But he said he wasn't like that, and I believed him.

"He told me he didn't have a girlfriend and I knew no different because I don't really follow sport."
