Grapevine: Burti to Test for Formula Nissan Team

Brazilian Luciano Burti will be back in action next week when he tests a Formula Super Nissan car with the Adrian Campos team of the Telefonica World Series.

"I have been told by other colleagues that the car has good grip in slow turns because of the ground-effect," said Burti. "It is not as efficient in the fast turns because of the lack of aerodynamics, like in Formula One. The truth is that the slow turns are the ones responsible for the time difference due to the braking, turning and accelerating."

Despite having renewed his contract with the Ferrari Formula One team, Burti left the Italian World Champions earlier this month in order to return to racing. He was replaced at Ferrari by compatriot Felipe Massa, who was dumped by the Sauber team after making his Grand Prix debut with them last year.

Burti will have the chance to test a Super Nissan car at the Barcelona circuit next Wednesday and Thursday, although the Adrian Campos team have already finalised their driver line-up for the 2003 season. Burti said he is still considering his options for the future.

"We are looking at different alternatives, including the United States", he said.
