Glock hopeful about Toyota's potential
Timo Glock is confident about Toyota's potential to become a top team in Formula One despite the disappointment of the 2007 season
The Japanese squad have underperformed in recent years and last season scored just 13 points on their way to sixth place in the championship.
GP2 champion Glock will race for the Cologne-based outfit in 2008, and the German reckons Toyota have the potential to succeed in the future.
"I made the decision because Toyota has a lot of potential and it's a big motivation for me to be a driver for one of the top teams in F1," Glock told the official Formula One website.
"Toyota has the possibility to be successful but it's difficult for me to say why they were not successful in the past two years because I didn't spend enough time with the team to find out why.
"My expectations are that I want to do a 100-percent job for the team, grow with them and get 100 percent out of the team to be successful.
"I am very happy and proud to be joining Toyota and I think it is a good move for my career. There is a lot of potential in the team so I am confident we will make good progress together.
"They are still quite a new team compared to other teams in F1, but they are really determined to succeed, so I am positive about the future."
Glock will be testing for Toyota next week at Jerez after getting permission from the BMW Sauber team.
