Asmer can't wait for BMW F1 test

British Formula Three champion Marko Asmer says he cannot wait for his chance to test with BMW Sauber at Jerez in Spain next week

The Estonian has been called up by the team as part of their evaluation towards signing a reserve and test driver for 2008. He will be running alongside the team's regular drivers and Spaniard Javier Villa.

And although Asmer has never driven on the Jerez circuit before, he says he feels more than ready to prove his worth for a job with the team in 2008.

"It's a privilege to get an opportunity to test with a top team and I want to thank Dr. Theissen and the team as I really appreciate it," Asmer told autosport.com. "Jerez is a new circuit for me but I've heard it's really fun to drive.

"I've met some of the BMW Sauber team already and they are really thorough with preparations so I feel comfortable and ready. I can't wait to drive the F1 car and help with their programme."
