Frentzen Weighs Up Options for 2004

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen has said that he is no hurry to make a decision on his future but insists he has options within Formula One as well as in alternative forms of motor sport.

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen has said that he is no hurry to make a decision on his future but insists he has options within Formula One as well as in alternative forms of motor sport.

Frentzen, 36, will lose his drive with Sauber after Sunday's season-ending Japanese Grand Prix, but he says that he is still mulling over his next move with the possibility of a Formula One drive or test drive as well as a switch to DTM.

"There are some options which I am considering at the moment," Frentzen said. "I could do driving with another team next year and I could also leave Formula One and do another championship.

"I'm still pretty much in favour of motor sport, I like the sport and whatever happens, I will be happy doing my motor sport. I will see. I'm weighing up the options at the moment and I am in no hurry to make a decision."

Frentzen's only options of remaining on the Formula One grid lie with the Jaguar or Minardi teams, while he could take up a test drive role with one of the sport's leading teams.
