Frentzen Pleased with Arrows Progress

Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes the Arrows team are moving forward after qualifying in a promising eleventh position in today's session for the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang circuit.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes the Arrows team are moving forward after qualifying in a promising eleventh position in today's session for the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang circuit.

The German driver, who joined the Leafield-based squad this year, got the best out of his A23 to finish nearly half a second ahead of his teammate Enrique Bernoldi, who like Frentzen, was also able to outqualify the Jaguars of Pedro de la Rosa and Eddie Irvine, using the same Cosworth engine.

"I think we can be happy with the progress we have made since Australia," admitted Frentzen, who was disqualified from the Australian Grand Prix two weeks ago after stalling on the grid, and later leaving the pit lane with a red light. "The car handles a lot better and I know we are now on the right path.

"I'm still not 100% happy with the balance of the A23 but it is a good achievement after such a short period of time in the car. We are definitely moving in the right direction so we need to keep up the momentum."

Brazilian Bernoldi, who was forced to use the spare car for the qualifying session, set the 16th quickest time in the second Arrows.
