Formula One Not Boring, Says Williams

Team boss Frank Williams has refuted that the performance from World Champion Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari team is making Formula One boring, and he believes that if his team and their rivals can fight an entertaining battle behind Ferrari that will be enough for Formula One fans.

Team boss Frank Williams has refuted that the performance from World Champion Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari team is making Formula One boring, and he believes that if his team and their rivals can fight an entertaining battle behind Ferrari that will be enough for Formula One fans.

"Obviously this season has not been quite as interesting as others, but it is very enjoyable none the less," Williams told the Guardian. "As long as the battle for second down to last place is competitive, then there is an interest.

"You could say it's a double whammy because you're watching excellence and having the fun of the race for second!"

World Champions Ferrari, who are leading Williams by just seven points, have won four out of fives races so far, and Williams has admitted his team have been forced to work harder than ever just to keep up with the sensational performance of their rivals.

"I have to admit it's harder work than usual this season because the boys in red have done a better than ever job," he said. "I still follow athletics keenly and when you see people like Michael Johnson destroying everybody there is a certain enjoyment in watching that supremacy.

"To recognise you are present at a unique spectacle is quite special and that is what Ferrari is achieving."
