Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is hopeful he will be able to fight for the points in tomorrow's British Grand Prix despite another poor showing in qualifying today.
"I did a good lap with no mistakes," said the Jordan driver after setting the 15th quickest time in final qualifying at the Silverstone circuit.
"The grid position could have been worse I suppose so although I would like to be further up the grid, I'm hopeful that we might be able to do something in the race tomorrow. You never know what's going to happen."
Fisichella outqualified his teammate Ralph Firman, who in his first home Grand Prix will have a tough race if he wants to score points.
The British rookie will start from 17th position.
"I didn't really want to change the car too much because I want to keep a good race car, but that compromised our qualifying performance," said Firman. "I'm quite disappointed with my lap time but have a good car for tomorrow so let's see how we fare in the race."
