Fisichella still holds Ferrari hopes

Jordan driver Giancarlo Fisichella has said that he still holds out hope of one day driving for the Ferrari team in Formula 1

The Italian has said that he will try to stand out with the Jordan team this year, but that he is aiming to land a seat with a top team for the 2004 season.

Felipe Massa was recently announced as Ferrari's new test driver, and rumours persist that the Brazilian is being lined up to drive for the squad. But Fisichella told the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport: "They have taken him as a test driver. We will see whether he stays as a driver. There is still hope. I work to race for Ferrari because they are the best team, they have a great past and the fastest car."

Jordan has had a troubled off-season, and is suffering from a lack of sponsorship. However, Fisichella is still hopeful of impressing this year. "I look at the Jordan that I have got, the economic difficulties of the team," he said. "I will try to stand out with them. But the objective is to aim for a big team in 2004."
