Fisichella: Michelin is Ahead

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is not confident of qualifying in the top ten for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix after setting the 12th quickest time in Saturday's practice.

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is not confident of qualifying in the top ten for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix after setting the 12th quickest time in Saturday's practice.

Fisichella, driving the Bridgestone-shod Jordan EJ12, was the fifth quickest of the drivers using the Japanese manufacturer's tyres, in a session dominated by the Michelin-shod cars.

Only three of the top ten drivers were Bridgestone users, with Michael Schumacher being the quickest of them in fifth place with the Ferrari.

Fisichella, who is yet to score a point this season with the Silverstone-based squad, was downbeat ahead of qualifying and claimed Michelin is ahead of Bridgestone.

"It looks like it is going to be very difficult to qualify in the top ten, as the Michelin runners clearly have an advantage over us here," said Fisichella after the second practice session. "It's a bit frustrating but we'll just have to give it our best shot."

German Ralf Schumacher was quickest with his Williams, finishing ahead of McLaren's David Coulthard and Jenson Button in the Renault.
