Fisichella maintains Montreal record

Giancarlo Fisichella continued his dramatic

finishing record in Montreal with second place in theCanadian Grand Prix.

He finished third two years ago, second
last year and second again this year as Heinz-Harald
Frentzen crashed out ahead of him three laps from
the finish.

'I had my eye on a win after a third and a
second in the last two years,' he admitted. 'Maybe next time...'

'Actually my target was to score some points so
second position and being on the podium for the
third time in three years is just perfect for
me.'

'When I lost my second position because of Panis and
Badoer I was really upset as they were one lap behind
and wouldn't let me overtake.'

'Frentzen's crash gave me second place but I think I
would have caught him anyway.'

His Benetton team mate Alex Wurz broke his driveshaft on the very first lap.

'It was really frustrating because I had pulled up to
eighth from 11th after the start,' said the Austrian.

Fisichella's result moves him up to 5th in the Drivers' Championship and Benetton to 4th in the Constructors', best of the Supertec powered teams.
