Fisichella expecting to stay at Renault
Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is expecting to remain at the Renault team next year despite the French squad's disappointing season
The 34-year-old Roman has been with Renault since the 2005 season, and his curent contract expires at the end of the year.
Renault have endured a difficult 2007 after two championship victories in a row, but Fisichella says he wants to stay at the team next season.
"We started the season with a car that wasn't great and still we haven't got the pace. I'm doing my best and I'm working really hard and for that I'm expecting once again to be confirmed for next year," Fisichella told reporters ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"Soon we'll know - but I don't know when.
"I'm happy. On this aspect, everything is under control and I'm looking forward and really want to race for Renault next year.
"And I'm quite confident. I've done my best but unfortunately the car hasn't been so good."
Fisichella has scored 17 points so far this season and is in seventh position in the standings, one place ahead of teammate Heikki Kovalainen.
