Fisichella aims to beat Button at start

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is aiming to overtake pole-setter Jenson Button at the start of the Australian Grand Prix

The Renault driver will start from second place behind his Honda rival, but with the Japanese car having struggled with the starts this season, Fisichella is confident he will be able to arrive first at the first corner tomorrow.

"I think if we start as usual we can do a great start and the target is to be first in the first corner," said Fisichella. "It is not easy but I will do my best."

Fisichella lamented the lack of running yesterday following an engine problem, but he was still happy with his car after some overnight changes.

"Unfortunately yesterday I had a problem with the engine and we lost good time to improve the set-up and overnight we made some changes," said the Italian. "The car was better but it would have been good to run a bit more yesterday, but at end of qualifying the balance was quite good.

"On the second lap we were quicker but unfortunately I made a couple of mistakes in the first part of the circuit, but I am still happy."

Fisichella won last year's race in Australia.
