Ferrari to get aggressive

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn has hinted that he will adopt a more aggressive strategy in Sunday's United States Grand Prix because of Bridgestone's improved single-lap pace at Indianapolis

Brawn was forced to take a two-stop strategy in the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend because he knew his cars couldn't compete over one lap with Ferrari's Michelin-shod rivals. After a promising performance in free practice in Indy, Brawn is more confident that Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello have a better chance of qualifying at the sharp end.

"We have a shot at pole," said Brawn after the second practice session on Saturday. "We have a good first lap of our tyres here, so maybe we'll run a more aggressive strategy than we did in Canada.

"Qualifying will certainly be very close here. Obviously BAR is very quick. It is well known that they have a strong engine, and this is a power circuit. Michael was not as happy with his car this morning as he was yesterday, but we'll see what happens with the fuel loads everyone goes for."
