Felipe Massa Q&A

Felipe Massa arrived in Formula 1 with the difficult job of following Kimi Raikkonen, and while he's yet to match the impact that the Finn made, he has done a solid job. He finished sixth in Malaysia, although ironically that came after his least impressive outing to date, when he was well of the pace of team mate Nick Heidfeld. In Spain he earned fifth place with a feisty little drive, although again he was helped by problems for those ahead. Adam Cooper spoke to him after the race

"I'm really happy about the result, not just for me but also for the team. They did an amazing race. So now we are fighting with Renault, and I think we'll be fighting until the end of the year."

"I made a good start, and in the middle of the race when I got Button I tried to overtake him. I nearly overtook him. I think he had some problems. Sometimes he was slow, sometimes he was quick. I don't know what happened with him. When I was really close to him I tried to overtake, and I nearly overtook him, but he was on the outside, and on the outside also there was grip. But it was good."

"It was difficult because he has a lot of experience in F1, and for sure it wasn't easy. But here it's difficult to overtake, and I didn't lose my concentration. My target was to arrive at the end, and when I saw that I was fifth, I kept the power into the engine and I didn't lose my position."

"I think this was much better. In Malaysia I just arrived in the end, and it was lucky. Here of course the luck was important, but it was also a really good race."

"Yes, the whole weekend was good. I think also for the next race we have a really good car."

"Yes, for sure. Each race and each test I learn more, and I'm quite happy about the results and I'm getting much more experience now."

"I think it's everything, not just learning to drive the car and saving the tyres. I learn also a lot about fighting with other drivers. I think it's been good, because here I fought with Button, and nearly overtook him, and also in Imola I overtook Trulli. Each race and each test I'm learning things."

"This is my target, to learn more about qualifying, because I'm not so happy with my results in qualifying. But I think I will improve. It's important to keep the concentration and work for the future, but I think in my fifth race three points is really good."

"It's a dream, but we're going to work for that."

"I just know the track because I did one test in F3, and now everything is different. But I think we have a good car for there."
