Formula 1 is set for its final triple-header of the 2025 season with this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix where the drivers’ title is still in the balance.

Lando Norris leads his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri by 24 points, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen is third and 49 off top with Vegas the first time the Red Bull driver could be put out of contention.

For that to happen, Norris must outscore Verstappen by at least nine points before Qatar and Abu Dhabi round out the campaign. But McLaren doesn’t actually head into this weekend as favourites, certainly a rarity this year, given its struggles at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix where it finished sixth and seventh.

That’s because the British outfit had tyre graining issues around the cold and bumpy track where Mercedes excelled with a 1-2 last year. So, will there be a repeat of that this year? A lot of that will be down to what happens in qualifying, so here is how to watch that session.
