Exclusive: Mosley Returns to UK Over High Court Writ

FIA president Max Mosley is believed to have returned to London following the issue of a high court writ yesterday against the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile and himself personally.

FIA president Max Mosley is believed to have returned to London following the issue of a high court writ yesterday against the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile and himself personally.

Mosley was scheduled to attend the opening race of the Formula One season this weekend in Australia, and was set to appear today in a press conference at the Melbourne paddock. However, the FIA announced Mosley will not attend the Grand Prix "due to a problem with his flight arrangements."

Atlas F1 has now learned that Mosley was already on his way to Australia but aborted his travel along the way to return to London, allegedly because of the writ.

The writ against Mosley and the FIA will be heard today in London by the claimants, seeking an emergency injunction. The case is due to be heard at midday London time, and legal arguments are expected to last all afternoon in front of Mr Justice Gray. It should be noted, though, that Mosley himself is not expected to appear in court.

The FIA and Mosley were unavailable for comment as of yet, and no other details about the writ are currently known. Atlas F1 will bring further updates later in the day.
