Dixon Still Eyeing F1 Switch
Former Indy Racing League champion Scott Dixon has said he has not completely given up on making the switch to Formula One in the next few years
The New Zealander tested for Williams at the start of 2004 and had been thought to have abandoned plans on making the move to Grand Prix racing when no further opportunity to get back behind the wheel came up then.
But he has revealed that he remains in touch with several people in F1 to check on the situation in the sport and see if there is the chance of getting back into the cockpit in the future.
He admits, however, that uncertainty over the long-term stability of the sport is holding him back.
"We have been talking to a couple of people recently just to see what the goals are," he said.
"It's very difficult over there at the moment with the F1 series and the manufacturers sort of trying to take a split and things like that. Everybody is not really sure on what is going on.
"It will be a spur of the moment thing I think if we do it. I'm still in contact with a lot of people there."
