Di Resta to sit out Singapore practice

Paul di Resta will sit out Friday practice for the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend in order for the racing drivers to have more track time

The Scot, who also missed the Belgian GP practice last month, will step aside so Tonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil get as much running as possible.

Force India will introduce some new parts for this weekend's race, which di Resta reckons is crucial for the team.

"Unfortunately I won't be out in Singapore as it's such a crucial race for the team, with so much to play for in the championship and a few new parts on the car," di Resta said. "All the same I'll be with the team the whole weekend and I'm excited about going there, as there will be some challenges I've not encountered so far this year.

"It will be another street track, and it will obviously be in the dark for most of the running so the whole approach to the weekend will be different.

"Everyone says how nice it is, not only the circuit, but also the city so in some of the free time I'll try and do some exploring and get a feel for the country. I'm really looking forward to it and am going to try and help the team as much as I can over the weekend."
