De la Rosa Fastest on Final Day of Testing at Jerez

McLaren's test driver Pedro de la Rosa set the fastest time on the last day of testing in 2004, and the final day of testing at the Jerez circuit, where Michelin carried out tyre testing on an artificially wet track.

McLaren's test driver Pedro de la Rosa set the fastest time on the last day of testing in 2004, and the final day of testing at the Jerez circuit, where Michelin carried out tyre testing on an artificially wet track.

For the second day in a row, Michelin-shod cars ran on the Spanish track, with water trucks creating varying degrees of dampness. The drivers concentrated on testing different tyre compounds and solutions, and their times were obtained in different conditions, which makes the comparison between the fastest times of the day irrelevant.

The day ended however without any extraordinary events, and the Formula One teams will now go on an extended break, resuming testing in early January.

The Jerez circuit will see seven of the teams return for a week of testing, beginning January 10th.
