Coulthard Fastest at Barcelona - Day Two

Scot driver David Coulthard was fastest for the second consecutive day of testing at the Barcelona circuit, where the majority of the Formula One teams will work during the next two weeks in order to get ready for the new season.

Scot driver David Coulthard was fastest for the second consecutive day of testing at the Barcelona circuit, where the majority of the Formula One teams will work during the next two weeks in order to get ready for the new season.

Coulthard, fastest on Sunday, saw his day cut short yesterday following Luca Badoer's accident, which forced the session to be stopped, but the McLaren driver was able to complete 76 laps today.

McLaren's test driver Alex Wurz was second quickest, while Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa was third for the Arrows team after a busy day trying to recover the lost time on Sunday.

De la Rosa could only complete two laps yesterday due to mechanical problems, but the Arrows' driver had no problems today and was able to work on tyre development.

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen was slowest today with the Jordan-Honda.

Testing at Barcelona will continue tomorrow, and World Champion Michael Schumacher is expected to return to work with the Ferrari team, absent today after Badoer's crash on Sunday.

Today's times:

Pos Driver Team-Engine Tyres Time 1. Coulthard McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:20.389 2. Wurz McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:20.662 3. De la Rosa Arrows-AMT (B) 1:21.101 4. Frentzen Jordan-Honda (B) 1:22.161 All Timing Unofficial
