Button Warns of Dangers on New Track

Briton Jenson Button warned on Thursday of potential problems at the first corner of the newly-created Indianapolis Formula One circuit laid out within the infield of the traditional 2.5 miles oval track.

Briton Jenson Button warned on Thursday of potential problems at the first corner of the newly-created Indianapolis Formula One circuit laid out within the infield of the traditional 2.5 miles oval track.

"It could be a little bit like Monza was in there at the start," he said of the circuit for the U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday. "I think will be a lot of cars dicing it a bit. It's a bit tight," Button said.

Button was referring to the first right-hand bend at the end of the start finish straight, before the looming banking of the oval's turn four.

He explained with a grid full of cars attacking the corner, the bend could get crowded.

"Then, you could see a few of us going straight on and into the oval circuit."

Button said he had been learning the circuit through computer simulations.

Other drivers gave a preliminary thumbs up to the new road circuit that has been created within the famous Indianapolis oval.
