Jenson Button continued to set the pace on the third day of testing at the Silverstone circuit on Wednesday.
Jenson Button continued to set the pace on the third day of testing at the Silverstone circuit on Wednesday.
Briton Button, who had already gone quickest on Tuesday, finished at the top of the times once more with the BAR-Honda '04 concept car. Button outpaced his teammate Anthony Davidson, who joined the test to work at the wheel of the new 006 chassis.
Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa also joined the Silverstone test to carry out the shakedown of McLaren's MP4-19 car ahead of the season opening race.
Jordan completed their final test before the Australian Grand Prix with Giorgio Pantano driving the EJ14 on his way to the fourth fastest time of the day. German test driver Timo Glock joined the Italian driver to shake down the third EJ14 chassis but did not set a time.
"We have had two days at Silverstone doing some final checks and tests before we head off for the season opener in just over a week's time," head of race and test engineering James Robinson said. "It was good to get miles on the third car at Silverstone today (Wednesday) and we clocked 100km with no problems.
"We had the full race crew there doing live refuelling, which gave everybody some good pit stop practice to stand us in good stead for Melbourne. Now we are into a very busy day and a half packing up all our equipment for the air freight to Australia which departs on Friday morning."
The Silverstone test will finish on Thursday.
