Button not nervous over Brawn form
Jenson Button has expressed no hint of nerves ahead of the return of Formula 1 in Valencia this weekend, even though his Brawn GP team needs to turnaround its recent disappointing form
Brawn has been forced to see rivals Red Bull Racing slash into its world championship lead since the British Grand Prix, with its BGP 001 car having struggled for pace in the cooler conditions of the last few races.
But after intense work at Brawn GP's factory over recent weeks following the summer shutdown, Button says he is eager to see how their efforts will pay off as the world title fight enters what could be a decisive phase.
"It's going to be great to get back racing again after the summer break and everyone at the team is looking forward to Valencia," said Button on Wednesday.
"There's been a lot of work going on at the factory following our shutdown and with the cars at the front being so close at the moment, it will be an interesting weekend."
Team boss Ross Brawn added that the entire outfit were eager to get on with the battle, with warmer conditions in Valencia likely to prove how much of Red Bull's recent strong form has been weather dictated.
"The team has been working extremely hard since returning from our summer shutdown and everyone is looking forward to the racing getting underway again this weekend," he said.
