Bridgestone reveals final compound choices

Formula One's tyre supplier Bridgestone has revealed its compound choices for the remainder of the 2007 season

Following last week's test at the Spa circuit, the Japanese company has finalised its choices for the final fives races of the year.

The Italian, Belgian and Japanese Grands Prix will all be run with the medium and soft compounds, while in the Chinese Grand Prix teams will use the hard and medium compounds.

The season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix will see the use of the soft and super soft compounds.

"Last week's test at Spa provided the final pieces of information we needed before we could confirm our choices of Bridgestone Potenza compound for the remainder of the season," said Bridgestone's head of track engineering Kees van de Grint.

"It was good to return to Spa as we enjoyed the beautiful countryside and the wonderful location of the circuit, which is shaped by nature rather than design. However, with Spa you must always be prepared for rain, and this test was no exception.

"We used the medium and soft compounds at this test and from the information we gained we are confident that these are the correct choices for the race.

"The Spa weather also meant we used the wet and extreme wet Bridgestones, and I wouldn't be surprised if these were also used over the Grand Prix weekend there."
