BMW say no change needed to car floor

BMW Sauber made no changes to the floor of their car despite being at the centre of Formula One's movable floor controversy, team principal Mario Theissen has revealed

The German manufacturer joined Ferrari in being the two teams that everyone expected to suffer the most because of a new testing procedure on floors that has been introduced to ensure teams do not operate movable floors.

But Theissen has insisted that his team were completely unaffected by the new tests, which were introduced for the first time at scrutineering in Malaysia on Thursday.

When asked by autosport.com whether his team had to make any changes to their car as a result of the new tests, Theissen said: "No."

Theissen added that he was unsure about the impact it would have on any team, with a lot of outfits having to stiffen their floor to ensure they pass the new tests.

"I don't know who has to change something and in what way it will affect the performance," he said. "Maybe there are some teams who have to change something, and maybe we will see an affect, but I really don't know."
