Barrichello won't rule out team orders

Rubens Barrichello has refused to rule out the possibility that Ferrari could use team orders in certain circumstances this season, despite the fact that they have been banned by the sport's governing body, the FIA

Ferrari famously ordered Barrichello to let team-mate Michael Schumacher win the Austrian Grand Prix last season, despite the German already holding a significant championship lead. A backlash of criticism followed which led to the FIA banning team orders that effect the outcome of a race as part of its recent rules shake-up.

"Right now there shouldn't be any orders," the Brazilian told the ITV-F1.com . "We won't get any until we get to a situation like Austria. We know orders now shouldn't change the nature of the race. But if I get to the half season point and have no chances to win, fair enough."

Barrichello also said that the possibility of being asked to move over for his team-mate doesn't faze him. "It doesn't affect me at all," he said. "I'm just concentrating on my driving and seeing what comes out. I am feeling good. I made a small mistake in the opening race in Melbourne and had a problem but I'm switched on the whole time."

The Brazilian is also confident about his performance this season. "This is going to be my best year in F1," he said. "That's what I wake up thinking every day. I have to think of my life now. When I look in the mirror I see myself very capable. If you fear something in life you never do anything well. I'm not scared of anyone otherwise I wouldn't be driving for Ferrari with Michael."
