Barrichello relieved to be second

Rubens Barrichello said his race was a gruelling fight back from sixth after making the wrong decisions in qualifying

The little Brazilian's second place kept Ferrari at the head of the constructors' championship. He consolidated his fourth place in the title chase 24 points behind team-mate Michael Schumacher.

"I'm happy with second place," he admitted. "To be honest I made the wrong decision with the set-up in qualifying, and I suffered for it in the race."

"It would have taken too long to make the changes and go back again with the set-up so I was stuck lower on the grid that I would have liked to have been.

"Starting sixth then penalised me in the race

Barrichello suggested that team-mate Schumacher would have won, largely as a result of his qualifying position.

"To be able to challenge you need at least on the front row, Michael showed we had the potential to do that."

"If he hadn't had problems he would have won the race today. I just decided to keep calm and to keep playing catch up. I haven't had much luck so far so it is nice to finish second and be knocking on the door for my first win."

Second place equals the 29-year-old's best result here, scored with Stewart three years ago.
