Barrichello: Massa in a difficult position
Brazilian Rubens Barrichello reckons compatriot Felipe Massa has a difficult job being Michael Schumacher's teammate at the Ferrari team
Barrichello drove alongside Schumacher for six seasons before moving to the Honda Racing team this year.
The Brazilian played second fiddle to the seven-time champion during his stint at the Maranello-based squad, and he admits he doesn't envy Massa's position.
"Michael and I always had the same car. But the whole team was developed around Michael," Barrichello said in an interview with Auto Bild. "I often could not do what I wanted.
"I always believed that I could have succeeded there, but in 2005, when we weren't doing that well, they were particularly tough with me.
"And I can tell you this: Felipe Massa has a difficult job at the moment. He must help Michael win the title in order to have a future in the team."
Massa's current contract with Ferrari runs out at the end of the season and his future is still up in the air.
The young Brazilian is fifth in the championship, having scored three podium finishes. Teammate Schumacher is 17 points behind leader Fernando Alonso with seven races remaining.
