BAR principal's three-year plan

New BAR-Honda team principal Nick Fry has urged people not to raise unrealistically high expectations in response to recent predictions that Jenson Button and the new 007 could challenge for the 2005 F1 world championship title

Fry, who has targeted victories from the 2005 challenger, has laid out a three-year plan for the team which was recently bought into by Japanese manufacturer Honda.

"Our performance in 2004 was very pleasing," said Fry "but we were all disappointed not to win a race and that has to be the first step in our three year plan to win the World Championship."

Fry, who replaced David Richards at the top of the team's management tree after the season, believes that organisational changes made to the team have contributed to the up-turn in performance.

"The 007 is another step forward, not only in its design and performance but also because the design and build process went very smoothly.

"This confirms that the organisational and process changes implemented at BAR over the last three years are robust and provide a strong core which enables development of our car through the year and from year to year in pursuit of our goals."
