Driving the 2004 'concept' BAR car, Jenson Button finished the second day of testing at Barcelona, Spain, second fastest - less than two tenths behind Ferrari's test driver Luca Badoer.
The Briton shook down BAR's hybrid car yesterday, and today took it to testing in full earnest, running a total of 84 laps - the most laps any of the drivers ran today.
Ferrari continued working with three test drivers - Badoer, Felipe Massa and Luciano Burti all running at the wheel of three F2003-GA and securing the first, third and fifth times of the day respectively. Ferrari's technical programme for the day centred on development work with tyres, electronics and engine.
In the mean time, Sauber's newly signed Giancarlo Fisichella continued testing the C22-05 and covered a total of 82, trouble-free laps. "In the morning we concentrated on aerodynamic measurements in order to check the correlation of the data on the track with the one in the wind tunnel," commented Sauber's Chief Race Engineer, Jacky Eeckelaert.
"In the afternoon we tested some new brake materials and finished the day with a tyre test programme for Bridgestone. Although this was only Giancarlo's second day with team, it felt as if he has been around for a long time. It's a real pleasure to work with him."
