Da Matta Concludes Private Testing at Paul Ricard
CART champion Cristiano da Matta continued adjusting to his new role as Toyota Formula One driver, when he concluded today four days of private testing at the French Paul Ricard circuit.
CART champion Cristiano da Matta continued adjusting to his new role as Toyota Formula One driver, when he concluded today four days of private testing at the French Paul Ricard circuit.
The Brazilian drove the TF102B interim car, completing a total of 170 laps of the 5.803-km track layout, working on Michelin tyre tests for 2003 and various car set-up items. The team did not release any lap times.
"For my first time in the TF102B, we did not complete as many laps as we would have liked," da Matta said today. "Having said that, what we did this week was positive, and showed up areas on the car that we need to work on most. Overall I am happy and I feel that we are making good progress. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel next week."
Da Matta will be joined by teammate Olivier Panis next week, for further testing for Toyota at Paul Ricard, between December 10th and December 13th.
