Mixed Feelings for Bridgestone

Bridgestone's technical manager Hisao Suganuma was delighted with their 11th win in 13 races this season, but claimed he was sorry to see Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella and Sauber's Felipe Massa missing out on a strong result.

The Bridgestone-shod Ferrari team clinched their fourth consecutive Constructors' Championship after Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and teammate Michael Schumacher finished in first and second places at Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring circuit.

"It has been a day of mixed emotions to a certain extent - obviously the result is wonderful for Rubens and Ferrari and our collaboration with them, but it was a pity that two of our drivers lost places and points when they had been running strongly," Suganuma said.

"Nevertheless, Giancarlo took a valuable and well deserved point for Jordan. From the tyre point of view, it was a satisfying race with our primary spec in particular performing well. We saw again today that our tyre choice suits not just one team but means that all our cars can be in points-scoring positions."

Fisichella and Massa looked set to finish in fourth and fifth places respectively, but they were outperformed by the Michelin-shod McLaren. The Jordan driver went on to finish sixth while the Brazilian ended up just outside the points in seventh.
