Trulli Fastest on Closing Day of Valencia Testing

Renault driver Jarno Trulli set the fastest time today of testing at Valencia, where four of the Michelin-shod teams concluded this week's testing session.

Just like the day before, the session today was held under changing weather conditions, and the teams used the hours run on wet track to test and develop the control systems and general set-up work.

"A good day to complete our testing," said Renault's technical director Mike Gascoyne. "Jarno worked well, which his lap time shows, while Fernando [Alonso] ran very competitively during the afternoon. Overall, our work in Valencia has been extremely productive, and we have reason to be optimistic for Austria."

"We concentrated on tyre testing and various mechanical and aero components for upcoming races such as Monaco," said Sam Michael, Williams's chief operations engineer. "We also had some time to spend on wet and intermediate set-ups due to occasional bad weather."
