Raikkonen Predicts Difficult Race for McLaren

McLaren driver Kimi Raikkonen is expecting a difficult race in tomorrow's Spanish Grand Prix after qualifying in fifth place on Saturday.

The young Finn outqualified teammate David Coulthard for the third time this year despite ruining his first run of the session after a big moment where he nearly lost control of his Mercedes-powered car.

Raikkonen, however, recovered well to finish the session behind the two Ferraris and the two Williams.

"The car was handling well today but there is still no doubt that it will be a difficult race," said Raikkonen. "I had a moment, which made me abandon my first run but apart from that there were no major dramas.

"We have some work to do to improve further, but I will give it my best and I'm sure we can get closer to the competition."

Scot Coulthard claimed after the session that he was not capable of extracting the best out of his McLaren in any of his runs, having to settle for seventh place behind compatriot Jenson Button in the Renault.

"We have some work to get through before the race, but as always we will do our best and establish the right strategy to maximise the potential of the situation," said Coulthard.
