Frentzen Upbeat after Promising First Practice

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen was a happy man after his debut with the Prost team in Friday's practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 34-year old, who was sacked from the Jordan team only days before his home Grand Prix in Germany, set the 14th quickest time of the day at the Hungaroring, in the first proper test with the Ferrari-powered car.

Frentzen was nearly two seconds quicker than Brazilian teammate Luciano Burti, who could only post the 21st fastest time today. The German was pleased with his day's work, and admitted he felt confident to get the best out of the French car.

"It was a really exciting day," Frentzen admitted. "I had so many things to discover and to understand at the same time. It was important that I could run a lot today as I had no real testing in the car before this weekend and fortunately, we have been able to do a lot of work.

"I feel there is a true potential in the car and for me, it is just a question of understanding as quickly as possible all its different aspect and systems to make it work perfectly together. I feel confident and motivated for this weekend."
