Happy Webber Not Getting Carried Away

Australian Mark Webber is refusing to get carried away despite putting on an impressive performance in today's qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Webber, surprise fastest in Friday's qualifying for the Jaguar team, produced another stunning run to claim third place, Jaguar's best result so far, alongside Finland's Kimi Raikkonen in the second McLaren.

Webber, last man out on track in the single-shot format, was quicker than pole setter Rubens Barrichello through the first two sectors and looked to be heading for pole himself until losing time on the final stretch.

"On top of what happened yesterday, this is a nice little reward," said the Australian, who can be expected to pit before those ahead of him on the grid. "We know we have made clear progress so it's a good day for us."

However, the Australian, who retired from the first two races of the season due to mechanical problems, is still keeping his feet on the ground.

"There is no point in getting totally fired up and excited about what's happened," he said. "I am happy but we have got a long race tomorrow and more work to do for future races."

Webber's teammate Antonio Pizzonia finished down in 17th position.
