Anderson Urges Fisichella to be Positive

Jordan's head of test and race engineering Gary Anderson has urged Giancarlo Fisichella to remain positive if the Silverstone-based team are to come out of their current slump.

Jordan's head of test and race engineering Gary Anderson has urged Giancarlo Fisichella to remain positive if the Silverstone-based team are to come out of their current slump.

Fisichella retired from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone as the race ended in another disappointment for the team but Anderson believes motivation is what Jordan need if they are to solve their problems.

"Fisichella is down. I am down. We are all down," Anderson told Autosport magazine. "But in the big world there is not any other option but to keep on going and try to find solutions to the problem. He needs to just buy into the fact that we need him to help our guys.

"If you look through the drivers, the ones who are really successful are those that motivate the team."

Fisichella, who has made no secret of his disappointment with the team, has suggested he is ready to quit Jordan at the end of the season when his contract expires, and visited Sauber's headquarters in Switzerland before the British Grand Prix.
