Alonso Still Fuming at Ralf

Spaniard Fernando Alonso has responded to claims from Ralf Schumacher that he was to blame for the accident that put him out of Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

Spaniard Fernando Alonso has responded to claims from Ralf Schumacher that he was to blame for the accident that put him out of Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

Renault's Alonso crashed out of the race while trying to lap the Williams driver in the tunnel, the Spaniard claiming Schumacher had first backed off only to accelerate again when he was passing.

Alonso crashed into the barriers when he looked set for a podium finish and Schumacher put the blame on the Renault driver.

"He's rather inexperienced in Formula One and made a mistake," Schumacher said after the race. "It's clear that he would try to place the blame on someone else. Just wait a week and he'll be calmed down."

Alonso, however, has claimed Schumacher's move had forced him to overtake around the outside.

"I didn't want to overtake him around the outside. I'm not stupid and I don't like risking my life," Alonso was quoted as saying in Spanish daily Marca.

Both men were summoned by the race stewards after the race, but no action was taken. Alonso was not happy with the decision.

"If his name was Baumgartner, he would have been crucified and we wouldn't let him in at Nurburgring," added the Spaniard. "He is not going to get penalised because he is Ralf Schumacher, but if it was a Sauber or a Jordan he wouldn't be racing again.

"He isn't going to talk to me at Nurburgring because we mortals are on a different level and he has more experience than me. Besides, I have better things to do. "
