Aguri facing more delays with new car
Super Aguri could further delay the launch of their 2007 car and may not have it ready before practice in Australia, autosport.com has learned
The Japanese squad were planning to launch the new car, named SA07, in Tokyo a week before the season opening Grand Prix, however team sources have told autosport.com this event could be postponed, as the car may not be ready in time.
The SA07 failed the initial mandatory FIA crash test last month and is due to undergo another crash test next week.
Moreover, Super Aguri are still unsure about their primary sponsor, which means the colour scheme for the car is yet to be decided.
"Pending the crash test next week and us getting ready, there is a chance we won't launch before Australia," a team source told autosport.com, adding that Super Aguri drivers and team chiefs would still attend a planned Honda press event on March 12th in Tokyo.
Super Aguri are testing at Bahrain next week, where the team will run their interim car. The SA07 is therefore expected to run for the first time no sooner than Friday's free practice for the Australian Grand Prix.
