Barrichello still hungry for success
A fired up Rubens Barrichello claims his desire to succeed is stronger than ever, as he ramps up his preparations ahead of a first run with Williams
The Brazilian stayed over at Williams' Grove factory recently, so he could spend time there getting to know team members - and he has also taken in a visit to engine supplier Cosworth.
And delighted with what he has seen, Barrichello says his huge experience in F1 has not dampened his enthusiasm for more success.
"It is funny how things in life go," he said during his recent visit to Cosworth. "I could have said after five years of F1 this is a difficult one and I don't know if I want to do this, but after such a long time I am still very hungry.
"The dream to become world champion is closer than ever. [I am] feet on the ground working as hard as I can and working very hard for success."
Barrichello's enthusiasm to make the best of the opportunity he has been handed made him feel it was vital to spend time in the UK, rather than maximise his holiday time back home in Brazil.
"I've been visiting the Williams factory a couple of times already, so it is good to come to Cosworth and see the intentions," he said. "You can see good signs at Cosworth as well - they are here not just to do well but also to win.
"Technically it is good to get some of the information but also to pump people around, and say we are all there behind them - as it is a win together, lose together business."
He added: "You don't gain things by just phoning - you have to be there in presence. It is a really nice exercise and I am actually camping in the Williams factory with my motorhome.
"I am there for three days to learn everyone's names. It is a really good exercise and I enjoy it very much - that is my motivation."
