Horner hints at 'aggressive' strategy
Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner has hinted that his squad used an 'aggressive' strategy to put Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber first and third on the grid, but is confident that its car's pace is genuine
Today's result is Red Bull's first Formula 1 pole position, and came after Vettel made just one run in Q2 and Q3.
"Sebastian and the car have been on the pace all weekend," Horner told the BBC. "Mark as well has been very, very quick. We took an aggressive strategy through qualifying, we really went for it, and it paid off.
"It's testimony to the guys not just here but in Milton Keynes. They've done a great job and put a lot of effort in."
He is not underestimating the challenge ahead in the race, with the so far dominant Brawns starting fourth and fifth, and many drivers predicting massive problems with the super soft tyres.
"Managing the tyres is going to be crucial in tomorrow's race, but we're in the best position to do that," said Horner.
"Obviously the Brawn is still very, very quick. We don't know where they're going on strategy.
"But our car's been very fast here all weekend and our drivers have been happy with the balance. First and third is a very strong team result."
