Klien laments wrong tyre choice

Although third driver Robert Doornbos enjoyed a promising day by setting the eighth quickest time of the session, the Red Bull team's racing drivers were left at the bottom of the times.

"It was not a good session for us, I think we were on the wrong tyres," said Klien after finishing down in 27th position, over 3.5 seconds off the pace.

"The car balance was not bad to start with, but then, as the tyres went off it got really, really bad - the worst so far this year I think. Hopefully we'll be a little better in qualifying tomorrow."

Scot David Coulthard, 25th today, admitted they were slower than expected, but the he was hoping for a step forward tomorrow.

"We were a little bit further away in those conditions than I expected we'd be," said Coulthard. "We started focusing more towards single lap performance for tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get a pleasant surprise then."
