Kubica stays on top in practice 2 - Canada
BMW Sauber test driver Robert Kubica added to his pace-setting time this morning by going quickest in the second free practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix
The 21-year-old Pole topped the highly uneventful session on the Montreal circuit in 1:19.965 - although that was over half a second slower than the time he set in the cooler morning session.
Defending world champion Fernando Alonso was second fastest for Renault, just over one tenth of a second slower than Kubica, with Williams test driver Alex Wurz third.
Behind them, Kimi Raikkonen showed flashes of promise with the fourth quickest time for McLaren and Honda test driver Anthony Davidson was fifth.
The final chicane continued to cause problems for the drivers, despite the track temperature being five degrees higher than in the opening session.
Fourteen drivers in total missed their braking point and chose to straight-line the corner, rather than risk hitting 'champions wall' as the barrier on the outside of the corner became known in 1999, when it claimed the races of Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve and Damon Hill.
The most significant of these were Ferrari driver Schumacher himself and McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya, who ended up well down in 15th and 17th places.
Both went off the track at the first corner on their next laps, although neither suffered any damage to their cars.
There was bad fortune for Jarno Trulli though, as the Italian's Toyota slowed suddenly with nine minutes of the session still to run, forcing him back to the pits.Pos Driver Team Time Laps
