BAR Happy after 'Best Race of Year'
BAR's sporting director Gil de Ferran praised his team after what the Brazilian said it was their best race of the year
"This was the best race of the year so far for our team," said de Ferran after the Turkish Grand Prix.
Briton Jenson Button recovered well from a disappointing qualifying, fighting his way back to fifth place after having started from 13th position.
Button's teammate Takuma Sato also had a positive day despite having started from the pitlane after his qualifying time was deleted on Saturday. Sato finished in ninth place.
Although de Ferran was pleased with the team's effort, he was left lamenting their poor performance in qualifying.
"Both Jenson and Takuma drove faultlessly, aggressively and very fast indeed," added de Ferrari. "Our engineers' inventive strategy paid good dividends, especially in the case of Taku.
"The pitstops were executed very well and, last but far from least, Honda once again built an engine that remained strong throughout the race. One can't help wondering what could have happened had we started further up the grid."
