Montoya Fastest in Practice 3 - Turkey
Juan Pablo Montoya put McLaren on top of the timesheets in the first Saturday morning practice for Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix, when he put in a late lap at the end of a quiet session
Montoya set a time of 1:26.857 to finish 0.174 seconds ahead of Briton Jenson Button, who continued to show promising form in his BAR-Honda, with Championship leader Fernando Alonso third.
Kimi Raikkonen, who recommences his chase of Alonso with a 26-point deficit to overcome in the next six races, finished fourth fastest while Takuma Sato displayed BAR's potential by finishing fifth.
The Williams pair of Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber finished sixth and seventh respectively while Giancarlo Fisichella, in the second Renault, claimed eighth but was the first to finish outside a second of the top spot.
David Coulthard put a Red Bull in the top ten with the ninth fastest time while Felipe Massa finished tenth and World Champion Michael Schumacher was down in a disappointing 14th place for Ferrari.
Rubens Barrichello also had a difficult time with the World Champion team as he finished in 16th spot while Narain Karthikeyan failed to complete a lap in his Jordan.
Schumacher led the session early on but with ten minutes remaining it was Alonso on top of the timesheets with just nine of the 20 runners having run a full timed lap and both BAR cars not having left the garage at all.
Tiago Monteiro, of Jordan, went off the track at turn four with Christian Klien also running wide at turn eight while Schumacher continued to test the limits of his Ferrari as he went off at turn one.
