Massa: No Ferrari Deal

Massa is expected to become Michael Schumacher's teammate in 2006 with Rubens Barrichello set for a switch to BAR.

Speculation at the Hungaroring suggests the deals have been agreed in principle, although Massa may be correct in stating that a contract has not been signed.

And despite Sauber telling Gazzetta dello Sport that he was sad to see Massa go, as he would have liked to have kept him on board for the first year of his association with BMW, Massa himself claims no deal is finalised yet.

"I don't know and to be honest it's not true," he said about the Ferrari rumours. "At the moment we don't know where I am going to race next year. Maybe I can even stay in Sauber, maybe I can leave.

"You know, at the moment it is too early to say. I am a bit surprised to hear that Peter said that. I don't think he said that because it is not the right thing to say because I am still talking with BMW."

Massa has made no secret of the fact, however, that he would relish the opportunity of going to Ferrari.

"I think it can be a possibility but at the moment it is a bit early to say. Every driver would like to drive for Ferrari. If I have this possibility it would be fantastic but as I said nothing is done at the moment."

He added: "And even if he (Rubens) is leaving, it does not say it should be me. At the moment everything is open."
